Professional background

I qualified as a mental health nurse (BSc Hons) in 2012 and as an integrative counsellor in 2020. I am registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and The Nursing and Midwifery Council. I have worked with both adults and young people since 2012 and I specialise in supporting people who have experienced trauma and/or who have eating disorders or a difficult relationship with food and their body. I work in a person centred, trauma informed way and can draw on a range of approaches to suit individual needs. I am also a Senior Lecturer for student mental health nurses at a local university. I offer both face to face (in Chepstow) and online counselling sessions. I now also offer ADHD Coaching to adults. I have completed additional training in this area and have personal experience of ADHD.

Values

I am an honest, approachable and down to earth person and believe the priority of therapy is building a trusting, therapeutic relationship where the client feels able to open up and explore their challenges, without fearing judgement. I also have professional and personal experience of supporting people with ADHD and Autism, and hope that I can help everyone feel accepted and navigate the challenges and strengths of their neurodivergence.
